iphone music keeps cutting out
Hi all,
first post. Had my Disco 4 weeks now and love it!
However, I’m struggling to get the music on my iPhone 5. It's a 61 plate XS
Two issues...
1. If used via the standard Apple lightening cable and the iPod doc, it plays for approximately 45 seconds before the sound disappears entirely. According to the car’s screens and the iPhone screen the track is still playing.
2. If used across Bluetooth, I cannot control the iPhone from the car at all. The music is on a random selection.
My preference is to get option 1 working.
Am I doing something wrong?
Thanks

I shall give it a go tonight.
Appreciate the reply.
I have an 11-plate XS and therefore think, like me, you'll find you need a specific audio adapter cable. Bluetooth streaming not supported in MY11 and the lightening cable doesn't work via the USB input.

Thanks alfamale.
What I find really odd is that is does work, well for 45 seconds anyway, then just cuts out.
Can't get my head round why that should be the case.
It should either work or not, not just tease me.

Sadly, no go turning bluetooth off.
Of course I need bluetooth on to pair it with the car.
Without it no phone calls.
Any other thoughts? Please!

I think the phone is going into powersave then (screen goes black?).

Sadly it's not the power save on my phone.
The music cuts off even when the phone's screen is active.
Help!

Not tried a non-Apple device yet, just need to find one!
Have tried a non Apple lighting cable. I also have a Belkin cable, which look like the Apple one but the cable is a bit thicker. Using that, the music stops at 1 min 10 second.
Might get a whole track one day!
Cheers

Evening all,
sorry this is dragging on...
have tried non apple device, the car would even recognise it. the screen and doc in the car both say iPod so guess that's why.
however, as suggested earlier, if I turn the bluetooth off, hey presto it works
but then no phone:(
arrrrrrgggggggghhhhhhhh!!!

Read this somewhere:
1. you need to let the phone connect to bluetooth
2. only when the connection to the car's BT has been made, plug in the lightning cable
It seems that the phone always chooses the last connection that was added. It will therefore switch to BT playback after indeed roughly a minute.
