Help Needed For EPB problem |
|
Hi,
I have a problem with my Discovery 3 and I'm getting to the stage looking for an answer.
I stopped on a very slight hill, applied the EPB as normal, returned to find it wouldn't release, just made an awful screeching sound, so I tried the EPB release thing which I pulled very hard and it will not release..... I called the AA and after explaining where the release is and how it works he then tried it once and went home..... my car is now sat at the side of a road and I cannot get it to release......
Does anyone have any idea how I can do it?
I am 6ft and 15stone and I put all my weight into pulling the release and it wasn't budging at all......
Please help me otherwise will be cutting the cables tomorrow as I need it for Saturday.....
Thank you,
Robert

Mine did exactly the same thing yesterday, I couldn't get the cable to release the brakes, the RAC guy rocked it back and forth by selecting D then R and pulling the cable at the same time. It then released easily. Fortunately I'm booked into my Indie on Monday for its 7 year service so he is going to fix it for me. Nick

I had same problem with my D3 a few years ago with boat trailer attached on slipway with tide coming in!
Called LR Assistance as couldn't release manually and engineer duly arrived. He tried manual release with no success, started engine and sat there pushing and pulling release lever many times and then it simply released itself. Worth a try perhaps.
