I fitted a parrot mki 9002 to my HSE, I didn't buy a lead as there was a number of the wires already spliced into the loom for a previously fitted aftermarket trafficmaster system, so I just used various posts on the forum to determine the extra wires I needed and spliced them into the loom.
I used the speaker out wires from one channel of the parrot to feed the phone +ve and -ve feeds into the back of the 6 cd head unit, and a wire into the mute input, it works fine, I get the phone over the front speakers and it mutes regardless of which is the currently selected input.

The mki9200 bypasses the car stereo amp and uses its own in built amp which isn't as powerful to hijack the speakers from what I can remember.
The kram lead petehse used sorts that and it sends the music straight into the aux channel thus using the vehicle amp.
Try turning mute on streaming on. I can't remember which way round it is. As for the singing not coming through check the eq on the parrot or phone is set up ok
I think you will have to check all your connections are correct to be honest as I had none of these issues.
If you fancy a trip to the Isle of Man I'd be happy to have a look
