Hi Alan_T,
I`ve been looking for these tyres here in Norway, and found them available today.
But the guy in the shop did not recommend them due to the fact they are a tad to big, 5,4% to be exact.
Have you tried them on yet, would love to hear how they are ?!
Is it ok to ask for the price?
I was offered them for 10.000 Nkr converts to 800 GBP, not to bad as for norwegian prices I think.

Hopefully they will be fitted tomorrow in time for Peterborough, I bought them from http://www.oponeo.co.uk for £512 delivered and they measure just over 31.5 inches.GAP IID Pro Multi Vehicle Defender L316 2007-2015 - Discovery 3 - Discovery 4 - Discovery Sport L550 - Freelander 2 - Range Rover Evoque L538 - Range Rover L322 - Range Rover L405 - Range Rover Sport L320 - Range Rover Sport L494 Electrical Fault Diagnostics

There must be a good reason BFG AT aren't made in the normal D3 18 and 19 sizes, they are a fantastic tyre, without doubt the best tyre I've ever used.IID PRO

I've been running this size and make for the last 8 years without problem (except that I need to deflate the spare).
Highly recommended.

Strange ain't it, with the amount of 4x4 vehicles using the 18 and 19" wheels - all the Pick ups for example, shoguns land cruisers etc.2014 D4 XS

The 17" Cooper Discoverer ST's I had on my first D3 were slightly oversized (rolling circumference) and I had no issue with themSteve N | 21MY Defender | 08MY Discovery 3 (history) | 06MY Discovery 3 (ancient history)

Thats it and thats that, on order
Thanks for swift, informative and good replies to my questions.
Look forward to try them on in a couple of weeks, and to winter test them...
Also on order a set of studded Nokian Hakka 8 on 19" rims, needed on the west coats of Norway in the worst winter months....
Happy driving folks

Not a good photo but needed to brag a bit
Got them on yesterday and so far very impressed. Had Michelin 255x55x19 on and can honestly not hear much difference in noise.
As for comfort, also not much of a difference.
Off on a roadtrip, Bergen - Aalesund - Lillehammer - Bergen, in just over a week so look forward to see how they will perform

I have the same 17" rims as you and want similar tyres. Goodrich don't recommend any tyres for the Discovery3 and obviously these tyres are ~5% bigger than the standard 235/70-17 recommended size.
Do they rub on full steering lock or on 'Access suspension mode"?
Does the spare fit underneath OK?
How would your insurers feel about a non-standard size tyre on your vehicle in the event of a claim?
(I had Goodrich AT's on a 110 Defender a few years ago and they're great tyres.)

Hi Sparky, original size on this car from factory is 255/55/19, this gives 5,2%.....
So far so good, no rubbing in any mode.Only downside, expected, is fuel. Managed on average 8.5l/100km on the original wheels, but now its more like 11l/100km.
Drove aprox 1500km in a week on different roads in southern Norway in october and the tires worked very well.
The first snow has arrived in the mountains so I will have a go at it next weekend to give them a test and feedback to this post.
As for insurance I will try to stay away from trouble
