My D4 did this in May and it was the fuse. Open the glove box and check the blue 15A fuse, location 64. As soon as I changed it, it came back to life!

Right!!
I've sorted it, done some further investigation and realised fuse 67 was missing, now I did check fuse box earlier, had my chubby fingers in there and checked fuse 64 as earlier suggested, didn't notice if 67 was in there or not, but on double check once screen was back on I noticed it was missing, couldn't find a stray fuse anywhere but I may have knocked it out earlier, it is a tight squeeze with your hand in the fuse box. Anyways, fuse replaced with spare and hey presto we have awesome sound again. Happy days.
Once again I thank you guys for steering me in the right direction this forum is amazing.
