D4 key fob
our 2 year old d4 keyfobs are starting to delaminate... one side of the fob is rubber with the buttons moulded in and this is leaving the other part...rang the dealer...there is a problem and they have ordered two new covers on warranty..

I did my own as well and it was easy enough. Although I would have got my dealer to do it had I known.Andy

I just did the same for mine two (myself - not dealer / warranty); the fob in use was very bad and the other fob (the rarely used one) was actually fine - but I bought 2 kits (£5-6 each) and did them both at the same time. It is a little fiddley but still very easy still.
I'd never done one before - but just go carefully as you prise them apart.
Never mind. I managed to dig out the info I needed and have now ordered the parts.
For anybody interested, the part number for replacement key fob case is LR052882 and there is an SSM issued, if warranty still applies (or goodwill perhaps), SSM51797.

Mine was done under warranty at 3 years old. The dealer just handed me a new key after the 3rd service saying it was delaminated and covered under warranty. I didn't even ask.
