Reversing camera advice - MY14 XS
Guys,
I've read a ton of threads all over the net about reversing cameras and am none the wiser. I've just sold the HSE, which had a rear camera and I miss it. And so does SWMBO. I'd love to fit the OEM setup, but I think it's in the region of about £500 all in. So forget that.
Can anyone recommend a good reversing camera, presumably with its own screen (although if anyone has a reasonably cheap fix - say up to £150) that will work with the XS screen, I'd be really keen to learn about it. I'll be fitting it myself, and whilst I'm no stranger to messing about with cars, I'm no electrics guru at all, and don't have an iid tool, so wireless would be great but I recognise that I'm probably going to have to wire it to get a reliable feed, etc.
Grateful for any tips before I just lurch at the Amazon highest rated, most popular one!

I priced it up a little while ago and wasn't anywhere near £500. A lot closer to £250. Still a good chunk of cash but will be all proper!

Will,
OK. I did this through a dealer and got an answer around high 400s. I don't suppose you still have the PNs of the bits you'd need to do this? Do you happen to know if it's difficult?
I assume you'd need a iid tool, but that shouldn't be too hard to find around me.
If you can help, I'd be grateful.

If you take a look at these threads I've followed these steps and retrofitted a genuine LR reversing camera to my MY14 D4:
Parts were ~GBP 280 excluding VAT (bought in UK shipped to Australia)

Any reversing camera wired in (don't bother with wireless IMHO) will be fine. The signal cable just need connecting to Fakra on the back of the screen and then enabling.
I thought the xs models came with nav and reverse camera from 2012 onwards.Bodsys Brake Bible
