United States d4 radio questions

Ok at present I am looking at a d4 but from the U.S., now I know the radio systems are different compared to the UK/Europe.

Can they be realigned? I know of I purchase something like a f150 then I need to totally replace the stereo, can the U.S. Model of the discovery be converted easily for the sat nav, radio etc to be functional in Europe?

Radio has satellite reception and not DAB.. Also HD Radio which is not the same.

I would imagine a head unit swap would be required as a minimum.

Good luck

Thanks for the reply mark. It needs more research then from me as could be aerials etc

Now to hijack my own thread.

As you have had both the diesel and the petrol models looking at your signature how do they compare?

Great question...

V8 is a little smoother and can pick up its skirt a little quicker than the SDV6. High rev range performance is impressive... too fast for the car really.

The SDV6 is about perfect.. speed/torque and moderate mpg also it has the park heater (gets cold in Texas too y'all)

If the sticker price of comparable models is within a few grand I would go SDV6, if it is several grand then the difference in fuel cost creates an overall similar motoring cost.

In the US, it is a different proposition as I am enjoying the opportunity to affordably run the V8 - so a diesel wouldn't get a look in (anyroad, if there was a SDV6 available I would guess it would be $10000 more as the US has a bit of diesel love at the moment!)

...They think fuel is expensive now.. LOL

Now if you have some cash to spend on a magnaflow system, the V8 looks even more tempting!

Thanks for the insight Wink

I'll have to look again at the sdv6 prices Sad

So back to the radio of a U.S. Model, wonder if wiggs or bbs_spy knows what's needed to switch?
