12v Air Compressor

Hi ,
what is the recommended 12v air compressor these days? Managed to overwork the one i had at the weekend. Can't remember where it came from but it looked like a cheap one.

I know i need to spend a little more as we have big tyres to inflate..
 cheers

The Ring RAC 900 compressor seems to be well liked.

I have had mine for some years & it does the job.

I use one of these:

The twin compressor copes with larger tyres easier in my experience. Or the TruckAir unit with a bigger motor does OK, ran a Sherpa Ambulance's air suspension when the factory comp. died with one of those: http://www.orangeonions.com/interdynamics-...essor.html

I got one of these from JGS a few years back - Think there may be a discount code somewhere too.

Have a look at Viair, they do onboard and mobile ones that are capable of inflating 33" tyres, some of the top end onboard ones have 100% duty cycle

Shame as reviews aren't great and only pumps 36 litres/minute whereas the Tmax is 160.

Gets what you pay for.

Paddocks twins seem variable, I know a couple of people happy with them, and one person who had to send two back one after the other due to switch failure. It's possible they've changed/improved, not looked at one for a while.

First TMax I had anything to do with survived competing in Ladoga Trophy despite being bolted to the outside of the truck. Impressed me enough that I bought one for myself first chance I got.

looks like I may have jumped too soon, didn't manage to read all the replies before I bought it. That will teach me i guess. time will tell whether it is a goo purchase or not, I am looking at the others with intrest though, if the 700 doesn't do the trick then I will get a bigger on.

** note to self ** wait a couple of days for replies <doh>

I'm not so sure about the Ring RAC 700 - I know some people have had problems.
