Are Valeo Lights OEM? / Do you have D4 lights for sale? |
|
Hi,
I am planning to get D4 rear lights. Since the ebay seller I bought some from at a great price very inconveniently decided to experiment with minimal packaging, I need to source some others. So looking at the darker latest lights and buying new. the issue is I am in Switzerland and they will look for a LR part number when it's time for the Swiss MOT test. Would Valeo lights have one? Are they fitted to Discoverys in the factory? Or are they an after market manufacturer?
I am back in the UK for a week next week so still open to a second hand set of real D4 lights.
Thanks,
Andy

That's a pretty exacting MOT.
Just keep your originals to refit at MOT time. VR6 > 330D Touring > D3 HSE > !?XC90?!

Ask someone with a D4 with its original lights to take them out and see what numbers/labels are on them? 06 D3 SE / 15 LR D90 XS SW / 88 LR 90 Td5 / 68 BMW 2000 ti

Actually, do they take the lights out for the Swiss MOT to check any labels applied to the back of the unit?
If not, you just need to compare the lenses of "factory fitted" lamps against Valeo aftermarket. I'm 99% sure they will be identical, and there will not be a LR part number on the outside lenses anyway.
What are they actually looking for at the MOT, the type approval mark? 06 D3 SE / 15 LR D90 XS SW / 88 LR 90 Td5 / 68 BMW 2000 ti
