removable towbar

following on from the wifes idea of buying a caravan Shocked i have this afternoon fitted the removable towbar and electrics set up. must say it was very straight forward except for the fiddly bit attaching the loom to the rear x member behind the pendulum weights. total time 1 1/4 hours 1 screwdriver and 1 10mm spanner. just have to see if it works when i pick up the van on friday.

Spoke to my dealer after fitting last year.
Said it wasn't really necessary to tell the D3.
Told it's mainly for the rear PDC's.
Have they been pulling my p*sser?
The D3 automatically picks up the electrics [showing the trailer icon on the dash].
All has been working well for me when towing!

i found that once i plugged in the light board it disabled the rear parking sensors and it seems fine. It might be something to do with suspension height but as my tow hook is for a cycle rack it hasnt been a problem.

Surely if your towing a tintent or trailer your tell your left hand - 'dont dick about with the height lever.' or does some servo assisted fist come out of the glove box and thump you if you tow off road and ground it so it goes into extend mode automatically???

I think that even when the software is changed you can still make a manual height change, the difference is when one of the programme settings is selected, the automatic height change is disabled . . .
