"Weak" heated steering wheel MY13 D4

Picked up my D4 HSE last week Less than 400 miles on the clock and the heated steering wheel is very weak. Doesn't even heat up as strongly as if the wheel had been in the sun for a while. Our MY13 FL2 heats up just fine. Any ideas people?

Best,

Oh yes, just wondered if anyone else had had this issue? Would I be righht in thinking it is a clock spring issue?

Unlikely to be a voltage issue to the HSW, probably a duff element or heater control (internal to the wheel).

Pure speculation though and I would imagine that all they would do under warranty is change the entire wheel.

Hi DG,

Yes, we have one on the FL2. That one heats up a treat. The one on the D4 hardly registers. Booked in for Friday for investigation. Smile

I found mine heats up well around the 10to2 position but this fades towards the top and bottom of the wheel Thumbs Up

Gloves are no good when it's -15c to -20c and you've been spending 20 minutes deicing the car and your fingies are frozen solid. When your fingers are that cold no gloves are going to help.

Cue gratuitious chilly pic!!

And it's not far off snow covered wheelie bin season!! Laughing Laughing
