Sorry more questions. How is the screen brightness in sunlight.
Have to say that it is an extremely neat job. I presume the power feed is taken from the old light cluster. Is this unit specifically made for the D3 or is it a lucky universal fit.
Cheers and thanks for posting the pics.

Side note: Any 3rd party system can be wired into the AUX audio input directly (like the "Land Rover" kit)... it just takes more wiring work/effort.

Very neat install. This will be the first mod when I get my bus. Keeping the wee man happy in the back on long journeys is a priority.
I've done a search and there are some tasty units out there, with a similar style. I was looking at the screen in the rear headrest, but the roof mount looks a more neat all-rounder. Also save on sticky fingers on the screen if it's out of reach

I'm not so worried about sticky fingers as damage from feet and fists. It can get a bit lairy in the middle row of our D3? [and that's just the children] Discovery 3 tdv6 7 seat Buckingham Blue
Had it since new - sold Jun 17 after 12 years and 214,000 miles

Hi Croyde, The windows are all fitted with the factory option tint which darkens the inside of the car down, however the sun never reaches the screen anyway so even in a bright sunshine day with the windows open, the resolution is superb and the wee one does not complain at all. Your absolutely right the power feed is taken from the the light cluster, although you have to make sure you switch it off as power remains on after engine off! The unit is a general purpose one and I was seriously worried about mounting it at an angle but the screen tilts back far enough to make it level and does not obscure forward vision to the person sitting in the middle if the screen is not in use.
