update
LR finance have sent out a specialist to look at the paint work, turns out my car has been painted 3 times at the factory
paint depth reading 373 on the roof and bonnet 350 ish every where else, the guy said he is seeing this more and more with new cars, if there is a problem on the paint line they just send them back round
every part of the bodywork is showing 2.5 to 3 times the normal paint thickness even in the door shuts and under the bonnet, the guy said his report will show that the car has been painted 3 times at the factory and has not seen any paint repair since, the bubbles and problems with the laquer will only get worse as there has been no prep between coats
just got to wait and see what happens nextMY16 HSE Firenze Red Loving it

WTF I guess it makes sense that there is no oppertunity to prep the top coat before it gets a full hit of paint again and again, because it shouldn't be the normal process , but it sounds like it's becoming a common occurrenceAltox GSM FBH controller thread

From what I saw of the paint shop at Solihull I'm not sure it's so easy to just "send them around again" tbh but I would be interested to see the outcome 21 year LR veteran > D2 GS 2003 > D3 S 2006 > D3 HSE 2009 > D4 HSE 2013 > D4 HSE 2015 > D5 HSE 2018 > DS HSE R-Dynamic P300e 2021

On the one and only occasion that I rejected a car, under extreme provocation, the finance company took the hit and then went after the manufacturer to cover their loses. I see no reason why Land Rover Finance shouldn't do the same thing.
In my case, my car (purchased new) was in the garage, for over 5 months out of the 12 months that I had it, with major engine failures that kept it off the road and it was still unusable at the end of 12 months. The only thing that changed was that, after the first year, C**ro*n insisted that I now pick up the bills for the loan cars, at £45 per day
Have I understood this correctly? The car was 10 months old when you bought it and you've managed to reject it on the basis of paintwork bubbles, you've got a complete refund, your deposit back and you've had the use of your Land Rover for I'm not sure how long. However, you are now unhappy that you have not received compensation and you are not happy that you are having to hire another car while you try and arrange a new car from another manufacturer. Have I got that right?2011 - 2015: 3 x FL2

Yes John, the car was 10 months old, the dealership had purchased it as a directors car (Different to demo cars i am being told) the problem did not become apparant untill we had the very hot weather, i was told (Landrover) after the first inspection that the warranty would not cover the bodywork as the paint thickness pointed to that the car had been painted since leaving the factory, the specialist who inspected it from the finace company said straight away that it had been painted twice if not 3 times in the factory and his report reflects that.
Landrover have now held there hands up but only offered to paint part of the car the special report states ALL the car needs painting so i am still stuck what to do.
The finance company will give me my deposit back that is all, no compensation from anyone £150.00 for my costs of calls and diesel for running round for the reports to be carried out nothing else

Glad to hear that you got your deposit back and were released from the finance agreement. There's an awful lot to be said for having finance on a car when the amounts of money are this large.
I remember with my dispute with Shi*r**n, suddenly absolutely nothing became too much trouble once they were staring outright rejection in the face and then they were ready to agree to everything that they'd fought against before. But, by that time, I'd lost faith.
Is there anything that you would be prepared to accept from LR at this stage, or have you had enough?2011 - 2015: 3 x FL2

Car goes back early next week, sourced another costing me more money and a higher APR on the finance but at least i will have a D4.
I am highly disapointed in Landrover but little old me doesnt have the money or the power to fight them, Balck horse does so they can sort it out.
I have had Landrovers all my driving life and saved up for three years for my D4, the new dealer i have gone too have tried every avenue to help but they cant do any more as Landrover are not intrested.
Oh well you live and learn.
PS NEVER purchase a vehicle from Hatfields Landrover (Warrington garages ltd) once they have your money they are not intrested in helping if there is an issueMY16 HSE Firenze Red Loving it
