[Wanted] Fixed tow bar chassis attachment bolts
Hi, bought a second hand fixed tow bar but it did not come with the attachment bolts. Does anyone have any spare ones please?
I plan to use the tow bar to tow a caravan and a maxxraxx bike carrier, do I need to use the fixed tow bar side bars or can I get away with it?

If you are using the fixed style towbar, you should really use the side braces. On both the vehicles I have done towbars on recently, the bolts were already in the chassis - I just had to undo them, put the braces in place and do them back up (they also hold on a sprung weight thing on my vehicle but there was nothing attached on the 2008 model), I think it depends on the year (Mine is a 2005, the other was a 2008) so before trying to get hold of them have a quick look....

The bolts are only there on pre 09 D3's, and not there on later D3's or D4's
You have two options
You can buy the bolt kit from LR - its does exist as a separate part
You can find a enginneers supplies place and buy some long bolts yourself, and also cut two short lengths of strong pipe (electrical conduit works) to slip inside the chassis rails to stop them being crushed when you tighten the bolts

89mm long 25.5mm OD and 17mm ID this is on a Witter Bar Bolt length 130mm 8.8 strength I think it is. Hope this helps people or try Watling Engineering In Radlett they make from mounted bars.

Cheers for that Ho Tub we just changed our 06 D3 hse to a D4 hse & i removed the fixed tow from D3 looked at putting on D4 and realised those missing. was thinking tube & long bolts straight through thanks for dimensions.
