Fitting side steps

So I'm thinking of getting some side steps for the motor mainly due to saving the sides in car parks..
My question is how easy is it to fit them, do the sill covers need removing and are they then reused or do I need to replace them with different covers etc etc.
also anyone got any for sale or links to buy them, have looked on eBay and plenty on there but always like recommendations.

Plastic sills need to be removed, cut and reinstalled for side steps; usually new plastic clips are required too.

I don't like them, so I don't have any recommendations.

I had some ebay side steps that deteriorated badly.

I replaced them with these http://vod.ebay.co.uk/vod/FetchOrderDetail...6&qu=1

I waxoyled the underside of the steps and brackets before fitting them so hopefully these will last longer. . It's not hard to fit them. Just make sure you fit all the bolts loosely and position them before torquing them up. It took me about an hour each to remove the old ones and replace with the new ones. There is nothing difficult or technical about it.

Thanks for the replies. Unfortunately I can't follow your link as it has to be the buyer or seller only.
Have watched a couple of you tube clips to see how it's done and all seems pretty straight forward.
Just need to decide which ones to get now.

Try this. Though it looks as if they have put up a stupid price because they are out of stock at the moment.

I did mine today!

You have to remove the trims, then on the inside is already marked up for where you need to cut. I used a Dremel to cut mine. Then you put the top bolts of the sidestep brackets on with the brackets. Slide the trim over the brackets and then put the bolts in through the bottom of the trim into the bottom of the brackets.

I had to cut round my screws at the end though as they were in poor condition and I couldn't get anything to grip them to get them off. But the bolts and clips will hold it in place.

I also painted the metal of my sidesteps in hammerite after getting rid of surface rust as I bought used but genuine Land Rover sidesteps.

Looks nice. Mine is also the Zambezi silver and seeing your pictures I like how the edge really ties in nicely with the colour.
Will have to get them ordered so hopefully a job for this weekend.

Out of curiosity did you have any of the sill clips break??
Just wondering if I should get some in advance just in case.

No, but you don't need them all again afterwards anyway.

I hope I don't get in trouble for this link. But this link will help you as well as the other videos that go with it.

Thanking you. Very helpful. I have watched a couple on you tube already and seems simple enough.
I will find out this weekend.

Well I fitted some side steps tonight and was pretty happy how it went.
The only snag was the screws at the end on both sides stuck fast!
Happy with how it looks and also fitted new wheel centre caps and front and rear badge.
