| Build quality of my D4 dash |

Good evening all,
Been away for a while but still enjoying D4 ownership. I'm sorry if this has been covered, truly I am. My dash in my D4 is driving me crazy, hot cold or indifferent, over every bump or change in direction of the road my dash squeaks and creaks. Mainly from the two pieces either side of the radio/heater controls and each piece either side of the rotary gear shifter. Also, my glove boxes join in the orchestra of noise too. The car is a 2013 and has only covered 16000 easy road miles since new and has certainly not been mistreated. Even just proding the trim pieces creates this awfully cheap squeaking noise. Can anyone give me some help of what to do about it, I am reluctant to return to the dealer with it as I'm lacking faith in their ability and will more than likely have the inconvenience of it all with no benefit!
Some people would put up with it, but I find it unacceptable on a vehicle of this cost!
Any pointers, greatly appreciated.

Mine does the same, and like you I find it difficult to rationalise it in a car this expensive.I got the dealership to test drive it ,but they couldn't find anything wrong. After 2 years I've learned to live with it.

Take it to your dealer ...they have a kit for identifying and eradicating squeaks and rattles  21 year LR veteran > D2 GS 2003 > D3 S 2006 > D3 HSE 2009 > D4 HSE 2013 > D4 HSE 2015 > D5 HSE 2018 > DS HSE R-Dynamic P300e 2021

Once the car had warmed up the noise from my dash was like a sharp crack, over every little bump. Took it in for its 3 year service, just within warranty, and the mechanic fixed it with silicon spray and "tightening up a nut under the dash".
The dealer said if it wasn't fixed bring it back and they would have to take out the dash - not had a problem since. MY12 D4 HSE Ipanema Sand

Take it back, the delear had mine 3 times before they sorted it out in the end they stripped it out and changed all the fixings, put new seals where each panel met and put silicon spray on them been fine since MY16 HSE Firenze Red Loving it

We use the same kit at our workshop to identify faults on race cars.
If it is the same version, it consists of 'up to' four individual amplifiers that can be secured to various points either on a chassis, dashboard, just about anywhere in fact?
You then have a receiver unit in your pocket/on your lap in which you plug in head phones.
Whilst driving you can switch between the individual amps. The noise will get louder as you choose the amp closest the fault.
Then, although time consuming you move that chosen amp around the 'hotspot' area and gauging in your headphones all the time. Before you know it, you've got the amp right smack bang on the area of concern.
9/10 times it will be on a washer, bolt. Broken trim. Loose connector. You get the idea!
Im nearly 100% sure ours is made by MAC tools for anyone interested. It is superb for nailing knocking suspension components etc.
TIP: Don't let someone put an amp on your horn and then press the horn button when your tuned into that amp with the headphones in. That will soon get you jumping out your skin. I'm a victim!
