Detailing?

Can anyone explain step by step how I can clean my car PROPERLY, sort out scratches and other things?
Do I was the car as normal and the polish? Or wax?
I want to know what's the best to remove scratches, is it worth getting a DA?

Sorry this is my first car and I think its time I spent some of my spare time on it.
Thanks guys.

Be afraid.... Very afraid.... If you look at detailing world.... Shocked before u know it you'll be having the wheels off to clean the inside wheel rims...... I know ....I've almost been there! Rolling Eyes

Great site though ... Very Happy ... Love it ......

What colour is your car and how bad are the scratches?

If there bad you'll need a rotary to correct... Followed by a da to perfect the finish... Thumbs Up

Java black. The majority is just from bushes so quite light but I came home today to find someone had keyed it, or scratched it as there was still paint residue/ powder on it.

If you don't want to paint that might be best putting to clearcoat in the scratch, maybe even alittle basecoat...
It'll want flatting down and polishing, da won't touch that...
If your ever down this way I don't mind helping?

Il keep that in mind, would polishing not do anything then? Or would I be a case of try and if not clear coat it?

Thanks for the help Thumbs Up it is really appreciated.

Sorry to hear that, it must be just jealousy or something because I'm always good with the neighbours, always move my car if it's a bother to them. The pictures aren't showing up. My car is at home on the roadside all day while I'm at work, and hasn't been anywhere for 2 days

Thanks Thumbs Up

That looks great, so what did you do there, what does flatting it down include?
Sorry for all the questions

The really white bit looks deep... Wants paint plugging in the scratch imo
The more polishing you try, less chance a pro has of improving/ saving it imo...
I do stuff like this daily at work...
Super glue also works if your on a time limit... Goes off a lot quicker, so can be flatted and polished quickly Thumbs Up
