Help Default Drivers door locked when key is in ignition

hi can anyone help
I have 2007 discovery 3 which has developed a locking problem

when the key is in the ignition I cannot open the drivers door. to open the door I need to press the central locking button on the dash or remove the key from the ignition.

This is a dangerous especially if I was involved in an accident.

does anyone know how to reset it?

Thanks

Barney

Do you have it set to auto lock the doors over 10mph?

It does sound like the auto lock is set, which can be changed for each key.

The door should open on the second pull regardless.

In an accident all the doors will automatically unlock, even if the vehicle battery is disconnected in the crash.

There should be no safety issue.

yes it is set to lock after 10 mph. but is does not open no matter how many time I pull the leaver. take the key out and it opens straight away. same with both keys.

hi sorry for not getting back sooner.

no even pulling the little lever does not release the door. only removing the key from the ignition.
