Sorry to ask an off topic Q - but can't find answer elsewhere and doesn't seem worth opening a new thread...

Can the IID read faults on other vehicles, or only Landrovers?

One of our employees has a merc which has just died. Impressions are crank sensor or similar. Can the IID read out the generic CAN bus fault codes?
