I think you are referring to the warning in the IID Manual about leaving it connected long term (a warning shared by all BUS intrusive diagnostic systems, not just the IID).

All of the suggestions are great, but surely they would just as good if made available on iPhone/ iPad?
I get the convenience of the watch app, but don't miss the new stuff off the iPad/ iPhone app Thumbs Up Thumbs Up

Hi Everyone

Thanks for the suggestions, all of them do fall into the convenience area which we believe is well suited for the watch. Clive, point taken and in the plans!

Android: It's not so much that we are Apple fans but the fact we do have to start somewhere and make sure the concept is working well. Once all is sound, Android will be next since there is a market for it. It is a lot easier to make it work on one platform first and export the code to another instead of developing both in parallel.

By design, diagnostic tools are not made to be connected permanently. In some cases, this could lead to a battery drain if the device does not turn off when unused. The way to solve this is to implement a sleep algorithm that will minimize the device consumption when unused. Part of this algorithm is already in place but there is still some polishing that will of course be completed before convenience features are released.

As Beanie pointed out, a Y harness or OBD relocation is considered good practice when an OBD device is to be permanently connected. It does solve all concerns (theft, etc...)

Cheers Thumbs Up
