DRL test using LED tubes
So my second project (actually 3rd as the 2nd one was installing a D4 bluetooth module - always thanks to Wiggs)... installing the DRL's. The set I bought off flea bay has the option to light amber as well, so I thought I give a constant supply to them with the ignition on... so that they light white, and feed them also through the turning signal so that they 'blink' amber... right now I powered them with a 9V battery to take pics and post them here. I need some advice/help on wiring though... as from where to get the +ve supply on ignition. Thanks

Can't help you with the wiring & techie stuff but here's a suggestion for matching LED sidelights:
There's a feed from the unused connector behind the grille I believe - used for a pollution sensor in some markets (unless that means you!?). I'd hook that up to a relay to control the feed from the battery. Current: Discovery 3 06MY (55 reg) HSE Auto Zambezi Silver Allisport Fast Road Intercooler, V8 Brakes, Silicone IC Hoses, EGRs Blanked, Remapped, De-Cat pipe, FBHIC
Freelander 2 2007 HSE Manual Tambora Flame
Previous: FL2 56 reg SE Manual Black (written off )
Disco 3 06 reg B7S Manual Rimini Red
Disco 2 TD5 Y reg ES Manual Blue - Chipped

That's right. Loads of people have connected DRL's to the unused connector behind the grill.
Be aware though, it powers up on wake up and doesn't power down until the car goes to sleep so you may think it is a constant live, it's not.
DRL's wired to this source switch off sometime after you've locked the car and walked away, so expect a delay when you wire up to it. Mods:

Anyone have a photo of this connector please?

So given this sensor is only available on HSE models,
I think you've gone off info from a single poster who stated he thinks it's correct.
AFAIK, it's not just an HSE fitment. Many none HSE owners have used this to power DRLs.
You may just be unlucky if it's not fitted to your vehicle. Mods:

Either way, mine doesn't have it or at least it's not in the place indicated.
