Did a broke it already: suspension fault! |
|
I just bought a 2012 GS SDV6 with 31.000 from a LR Dealer (Under warranty).
To cut long story short, today I end up stuck in a muddy ditch with the left side deep in muddy water (the whole left rear wheel for cover or just less than that). I was pulled out by another car.
Once out the rear suspensions were completely flat. The dash is saying "suspension will raise when system cool". However this has been like this for several hours and even the AA guy couldn't fix it and i had to be pulled back home.
It is going into the LR garage tomorrow.
Any idea what it could be?
Many thanks
Nic

Why do you query CaverD3's suggestion?
It is quite possible that you have a leak in the reservoir (tank), air line, suspension bag, corner valve etc..., or a leak in or other damage to the compressor.
Did the AA read the codes & if so with what result - if not why not?
Good luck - keep us posted.

Could have been damaged.
Rear only is unusual. “There are only three sports: bullfighting, motor racing, and mountaineering; all the rest are merely gamesâ€

All the air suspension gubbins is on the LHS and the compressor by the rear wheel on that side. Have you had a look to see what sort of state it's in? 2016 Skoda Octavia VRS Estate

"C1A35 Air Suspension pressure accumulator. Solenoid Valve, Electrical interference"
??????
Car now in the garage.

Hi Guys,
Just finished to speak with Williams LR again.
Final diagnosis is:
Broken Air Suspension Compressor
Broken Air Suspension Control Valve
Wiring Pin Repair
£1500 not covered by warranty
I spoke to LR UK Warrenty service yesterday. They say that according to the pictures that Williams Service DPT sent to them the ammount of mud lodge in the compressor and around mean that the car was missed used and therefore not a direct primary mechanical failure but a consequence.
I am really upset.
My point of view is that the car got stuck on mud on a legal lane where the car was suppose to be as per construction specification and law. Since then the rear suspension failed the result is that when it was pulled away by recovering it the rear was digging into mud and that is why is now covered in mud.
I am really disappointed by Land Rover assistance.
Will call them again.

If the Air Suspension Compressor and Air Suspension Control Valve were broken by impact whilst on a public highway ("Legal Lane") then is there a chance that you are covered by your insurance?

Thats ridiculous! Its the best most capable off-road vehicle you could buy, They need to think again because that would be really embarrassing if it got out.

How dare you take a Land Rover off road? You know they're design for school runs... De-Tango
V8 Brakes
EGRs blanked
Running boards
3 flash indicators and clock on dash
Blingy grille...

I totaly agree. That is why I called again UK Land Rover to say that this was unbelivable. Wiring corrosion because of the water????
The problem is that I am stuck. I need the car to go on holiday next Saturday. The car is also under warranty and the only way I have to keep it is to have a Land Rover Garage to fix it. Basically more than keep fighting and pestering all around I have no other solution.
Any advice????
Many thanks
Nic
