Brake light bulbs are both working, but I have read that the non-LR ones might cause problems. That said, they've not been changed recently, so it might be worth a new set. Any recommended brands?
With regard to the solenoid, any idea where I'd find it to check its connections?
It seems more likely though that your problem is more related to the transfer box having been disturbed. Can't find that fault code; are you sure that's correct? OK, I've had the code read again. It's P174B, 'Gearshift X position sensor – circuit high'. Solenoid, Transfer Box ECU or the sensor itself? Anyone want to place their bets?
I'm getting it over a pit tomorrow evening to have a look. I've never been one for poking around in engines myself, although I'm having to become more inquisitive as my Disco ages disgracefully. Anyone got any good pictures to share about where to look for some of this stuff?
