My car was broken into recently and my Faultmate MSV extreme stolen. It's no use to anyone as it's tied to my VIN. However, apparently I can not simply buy a new faultmate and transfer my existing licenses to the new hardware (have 2 licenses for both Freelander and Disco 3). Can you please explain why I need to buy new licenses as well as new hardware?
Thanks

Chris
I did read you r email but it still does not make sense. I purchased a piece of hardware with separate licences for 2 software modules. In your email you say you can not transfer the licences without removing the security module from the hardware. As I explained, the hardware has been stolen and is no longer in my possession. I can not understand why you can not sell me replacement hardware and simply transfer the existing software licences to the new hardware. It all sounds like an excuse to rip people off in my opinion.

Would have thought as a good will gesture and the fact that Ivan has already purchased one unit from yourselves and two licences, he now wants to purchase a new replacment unit from yourselves.
As a good will gesture I would have thought you would have thrown in the two software licences FOC. Not a lot to ask considering the situation the customer finds himself in and the fact he has come back to yourselves for help/new unit MY17 D5 1st Edition Namib Orange

BlackBox did offer me a 10% discount on a replacement system. However, given that the most expensive part was the licenses they were not actually offering much. I have now purchased an IID Tool as a replacement (at much less cost) and am very happy with the IID Tool.
The cost to replace the stolen kit would be around 1000 Euros. The IID tool cost just over 300 Euros delivered to my door here in Australia.
I also no longer have to put up with the stroppy Ron's poor excuse for customer service
All in all a very expensive learning curve.
