I agree, a leak cannot be good.

Any hints for removing the pump? Looks like I will have to change mine.

So I’ve refitted HPFP still no joy cranks but won’t start . Replaced seals in the pumps cylinder head : element . Check shryder valve fuel squirts . Attached old injector to fuel rail turned it over diesel is squirting out . I’m at a loss I’ve think I have proved fuel system. However I have the tank on the floor not fully connected by which I mean to feul filler pipes and breathers . She won’t start with easy start either . Oh I have done EGR delete too cleaned intake and removed butter fly inside along with cleaning out the tank new fuel .
I have had her tick over briefly before I started maintenance on fuel systems which was achieved by bleeding the fuel rail by disconnecting the Cooper pipes .
I’m stumped this is the first Land Rover I have had never worked on one before any help in pointing me in the right direction would be great

Rolyboy, you might get a better response if you start your own thread. Your problem is hidden in this thread.

Rolyboy,

Is the fuel rail pressure still the same?
What fault codes do you have?

Yes fuel pressure is still around the same . I was hoping the new seals would have done the trick but no .
I’ve EGR delete. So I took the blanking cap off and blasted easy start down there still nothing. I hook up a battery charger to it whilst cranking to help it along . It doesn’t even sound like it’s trying anymore. Turns over engine rpm .is 150 on cranking.
I’ve not tried crank shaft position sensor. Where is it and would it show a fault?

Not sure where the sensor is exactly, I think it would show a fault.
