Sunroof arrived from really nice chap 2nd hand.
Very simple to swap, 3 torx bolts each side, just popped in glass, put on 2 of the bolts front and back both sides and then lifted roof to put in final one.
You then need to make sure the sunroof is flush to the car, so keep the bolts loose and adjust the back then the front and tighten them all up.
The only word of warning is don't drop a bolt as they are hard to get out of the channel.
Finally I have greased up the rubber now!!

I appreciate this thread is getting on but I've got exactly the same going in with my 2009 Discovery 3 (see image)
Is anyone aware of a solution? You can buy a replacement pane and swap it out (3 bolts each side) BUT that's absolutely ridiculous when its almost £500 and the rubber seal is the only bit that has failed (circa £50 on any other car). One could get a second hand pane but then this will be an old seal which will likely do the same at some point.
Thanks
Paul

no other solution, just buy second hand, my 2nd hand one was from a D3 so older than my car and still fine.
Damn! I hoped there would be a way of putting a brand new seal on it without spending stupid money to do so. Ah well, I either go second hand like you say it it accidentally gets cracked and if auto glass will replace under normal glass cover on insurance.
Thanks for your input though 👍

I don’t think sunroofs are covered under a standard glass policy.
Just a quick question-What’s the best thing to use to treat / clean these seals with so they don’t get worse.2010 Disco 4 HSE

Yeah autoglass will replace all the other 10 panes of glass but not the roof. How odd
RE a second hand one, can anyone confirm that ALL discovery 3 and 4 and all spec revisions all used the same sunroof? I'd rather buy as newer one as I can so the seal will last longer. I've seen a 2015 one and asked the seller but they haven't got back to me
Sorry to reopen this. I habe just found that my D3 sunroof has been attacked by crows.
Did you get to the answer ? are D3 and D4 the same?
Is there any other alternative replacing the glass?

The JLR parts site shows the same part no for both the D3 and D4
More importantly the part description has "includes seal" so not replaceable on its own.A visitor from the dark side, my other vehicle is an is still an EV. Strictly speaking its SWMBO.
