..it does the job very well ..when lifting on tarmac though remember to keep a piece of marine ply handy to allow the jack wheels to move with the lift of the motor ...otherwise they sink and the D3 is likely to drop off
Thanks DG, I'm off to Machine Mart 2020 BMW X1 18d XDrive X-Line Auto

I changed a wheel a few months ago.
It was cold and raining.
I used the tools provided and had no issues whatsoever.
I reckon the key is: find a nice flat solid surface, read the manual and do as instructed....... always on the road less travelled 🚧

Problem with that Ron, is the more you use the standard tools, the less they become up to the job - surprisingly quickly. Don't care now anyway - I've just come off the phone from APB trading and my Takla Air Jack will be here tomorrow

You got your D3 discount I hope? I still cringe when I think of the password Andrew set up I know it's not considered "kind" to say no these days, but no. Just no, ok? And if it's not ok, still no.
I've used the scissor jack twice by the side of the road and wasn't too pleased with the way the threaded rod flexed in the middle!
I've got a 3tn trolley jack at home but can't be bothered going out to the shed to see what make it is!Have a nice day!

I replaced the oe sizzer jack with a 2.5 t hydraulic jack , it works well.
and got decent socket and bar for wheel nuts.
Keep your old sizzer jacks , I use mine, and I have a fiew of them, for taking the weight off the springs in my off road trailer when not useing it, it is alwayse packed with gear ready to go and puting the jack between the chasis and springs saves the springs saging over time.

I've got one of the clarke highlift jobs from machine mart, £42. Nice jack for the ammount of times I'm likely to use it. Just wish LR had left a hydraulic bottle jack as standard as per all other Disco's I've owned.

Changed a wheel at the beginning of the year on my way back down from " The Sally Gap " in the Wicklow mountains(Irish lot should know it) in blizzard conditions , no problems with the D3 jack (plus I forgot to use the choks(sp?)).
BTW I got the puncture whilst being towed out of a snow filled ditch by an L200 and a Patrol GR ( at the same time ).Weather/Traffic report that morning said " Sally Gap" was impassable and as I was dying give the beast its first snow test.I was happily on my way to a site at this stage and was unprepared without shovel etc etc
If the Patrol driving RAF resue chopper pilot and the L200 driving competition lumberjack happen to watch this site & to you both.Next time I'll be prepared !
I must confess I've been very impressed with our L200 in the snow. Shortlist for replacing it currently consists of a Navara and a 110 Double Cab. Guess which one I'm voting for, despite the £70pm "supplement".I know it's not considered "kind" to say no these days, but no. Just no, ok? And if it's not ok, still no.
