dual battery for my2012 d4

read a fair bit about these and am mildly confused - which dual battery setups work in the 2012 D4, and more to the point, which do not (if any). aware of the battery placement issues, its the intelligent alternator I'm concerned about.....

Don't know if its available in UK, but the National Luna intelligent solenoid system (for the D4 you need the one with a GREY not black base plate), SOMETIMES works with the D4. I tried without success and eventually fitted a DC to DC HCDP unit (again modified by supplier slightly so that it only drops out at 12v). This seems to work ok.
I have a National Luna dual battery monitor installed as well, and can say that the charging of the main battery, due to the intelligent charging system, is very strange. The main battery voltage drops to around 12.2v after about two hours running and then sits there for hours. At first this really concerned me but have had no starting or battery issues at all so can only assume LR engineers knew what they were doing Smile

thread resurrection, I know.

Have ordered T Max system, and been looking at the installs on here. Has anyone considered fitting the T Max display in the rear? I assume there's a couple of then wires that would need leading as well as the main power one, but taped together that wouldn't be too hard? The display is useful, but only occasionally, and it's a bit ugly, so tucking it away in my boot control panel might be a good bet?

anyone any experiences of trying this?

I've not done that, but the cables aren't particularly communication sensitive or high power, so absolutely see no reason why not. Thumbs Up

Cecil, thanks for this.

Can you post the details of your setup please, including some pics?

Thanks!
