burning smell
has anyone in MY16 noticed burning smell coming also into the cabin but most prominent from the area of the gearbox outside of the vehicle after faster run?
do I have to start worrying? I had this before less intense but I was thinking it is new parts burning up the fresh paint or something on or around them ...

I get this sometimes after a fast run - I have put it down to DPF regeneration as is was accompanied by a hot-metal-cooling clicking sound when I got out of the car. might be wrong though Also Gone : MY14 D4 SDV6 HSE : Barolo Black + Almond

DPF regen procedure? as it idoes not smell all the time so must be something kicking in on occasion.

Sounds like DPF yes, it runs very hot when it happens.

Yes DPF regen, you also get a change in note for the exhaust as well or I do on mine and the last one. Smell can be smelt in the cabin if you are stationary or in slow moving trafficMY17 D5 1st Edition Namib Orange
