Can anyone beat this?
40.8 Mpg on a 100 mile run from Huddersfield to Windermere. Steady 65mph with a long stretch at 50mph through M62 road works.
Average for the full journey to Alston Cumbria and back again 300 mile @ 37.6mpg.

Thats good, but I guess it was the (horrible) 50 strtech on the M62 plus steady cruising at 65 that did it.
If I sit at 75 I'll get just over 30mpg - so shows the significant difference that a relatively minor reduction can make

50mph is not the most economical speed to travel as you're still in 5th gear, unless you've got a manual of course.
Edit: can't comment on these new fangled 8 speeds It can when others can't,
It will when others won't,
It goes where others don't.

Not the best pic but clearly a decent MPG... it does help when being towed for about 70 miles.
In the Beginning there was nothing, which exploded.

In my eyes Huddersfield to Cumbria is uphill all the way.
Mines a six speed.
Pretty sure, as long as the road is level, and not on any incline at 50 I was in 6th. I may be wrong. Or I may have "commanded" it into 6th
Never the less the long spell at 50 mph helped.
The other thing that helped was the weather. Light winds, no rain. But I did have the aircon on all the way.
