D4 loadspace/dog question - and hello
Hi - newbie on here, and 2 days into D4 ownership too (2012 MY). Loving it.
However, I'm after something that, when the 3 row of seats is up, covers the metal bar at the back so the dog can be more comfortably in that space. And ideally, when those seats are down, can also double as a loadspace protector. Or to put it another way, is there a folding loadspace protector that works with the 3rd seats up or down?
if not will have to fabricate something - it's fine with the seats down (cage or tether is fine) but when they're up there's a paw trapment potential issue - currently solved with some stiff card and a carpet from another car, but want a neater long term solution.
thanks in advance for any help.

Perhaps I am misreading what you are after as surely there is no space fit for a dog with the 3rd row of seats up - the remaining space is tiny?Land Rover - Turning Drivers into Mechanics Since 1948
I think he has a small dog and wants to put it behind both seats upD4 2010 HSE Santorini Black

The dog is a springer-collie cross, so not exactly small. However, there is sufficient space in there for him - he lies transversely and is perfectly happy. However, it's clearly better when we only have 6 in the car as he has the full side of the rear compartment then.
But my problem remains - the seat bar sticks up into that space, and I need to cover it. Hardboard covered in carpet, custom-cut to size, seems to be my best bet.....

Get the approved LR dog protector, does not interfere with any seating.
Easily fitted and removed, no drilling, precise fit.
I have two German Shepherds, and they fit easily and settle quickly.
With other breeds you milage may vary.....

So the dog goes behind the third row? Just tried that with my black Lab.
He gave me a very strange look when I tried to get him in that space, as if to say you try it first you !

The LR guard fits behind the second row of seats,
leaving plenty of room for my dogs.
Don't worry, he will get used to it.
A dog is always happier going somewhere

ours is happy enough in that small space - as was said, being with us is better than not - but he does prefer to have more room. Land Rover protector no good as it would be in front of the kids..... on second thoughts, I wonder if they do a sound-deadening version.....
So true that dogs are so happy to go - anywhere. I could not leave a vehicle on which I was working with the bonnet open or my Old English would go and sit on top of the engine!!A vaccine does not stop you catching a virus, or passing it on, or getting ill from it, really ill. I am surprised the dog doesn't get too hot there...not much ventilation air circulation there.
