Towbar electrics?

Hello,

I am going to install a Towbar and am wondering what electrics to get? I found on Ebay some options but I wonder what the difference are between VPLAT0135 and VPLAT0011 are?

And can I use the same Towbar as for the Disco 3 as for the Disco 4?

Anyone that knows?

Thanks!

Towbar for D3 & D4 are the same but the electrics are different.
I think the VPLAT0011 are for 2010-12 models and VPLAT0135 for 2013 and later models.

Thanks, it says that the VPLAT0135 is from VIN number EA000001 which does not tell me anything. Do you know how to decode that? I have a D4 -12 btw.

Thanks

EA000001 are the last digits of the VIN (Vehicle Identification Number) so compare it to your VIN and if yours is later than EA000001 you'll need VPLAT0135.

Thumbs Up

Don't forget to get it to work properly or so the vehicle knows when a trailer is connected you may need the electrics "enabled". If not enabled they'll still work but the rear parking sensors won't be automatically disabled when a trailer is plugged in and also the vehicle changes gear differently when it knows a trailer is connected, particularly when going down hill.

You will get more specific answers if you filled all your car details in so that we know what vehicle you are asking about Thumbs Up
 It can when others can't,
It will when others won't,
It goes where others don't.

Yes, that is true indeed. I will have a D4 HSE SDV6 -12 8-speed. So will the IID tool help me with setting the towbar to installed?

Thanks
