Does look like silver to me, but, in my opinion, I'd keep it. I think it's better with dark windows to have a nice clear contrast.
I'm not keen on stickers either but when it's just simple letters for an excellent site like this, I want it to be nice and visible - in the hope that other's will see it and discover the site. Like you, I also went for the centre top position rather than above the door handle. I went for the dark grey one as I'm not a fan of stickers either, but had to support and promote the site. I'm thinking it is possibly a tad too discreet.

Positioning of sticker...
Best place for it is top right.... that way people will see it earlier as they approach on the motorway from the right or as they pass you if you're towing. Also mean they can see it if there is a car between you and the driver is trying to look round the car in front (if you know what I mean)

Ive just cleaned my car and thought that my sticker looks more silver than the dark grey I ordered, I have thought that since I fitted it but thought it must be that colour anyway. I'd have a look on here to see if I was imagining it or not.
I think I must have been sent the same as you so I'll have to order another.
