low down torque
hi
Is it me or as anyone noticed a severe lack of low down grunt below 1500 rpm. No better than TD5TDV6 Se Zermat. 07

Yep, it's not there.... although the Turbochip version has it

Same here, not alot blow 1500. You wont beat many off the lights in a disco. Still though, plenty of go in 2nd and upwards, not bad for a 2.5 tonne lump.

I'd agree with 10FC, that when I drove the chipped D3 I found a big improvement in the low down grunt - though I understand that this is essentially only on the On-Road mode and isn't translated into the off-road modes (as they haven't been re-mapped by TurboChip).

Its not a ponsy BMW (I'd like to look like a 4x4), it is a 4x4 guys, and lots of power in the right places. 0-60 in 13 seconds is not bad for 2.7tonnes, still have to stop you know.

For something that is far slower than my Beemer, on paper, I still seem to be leaving most people behind.
Thought that the big D3 would slow me down

Must say we have dozens of them around her all driven by blonde haired women. They must have a loads a money as they drive like the wind in them. Only seen about 3 crashes at the local school with them so far, two reversing into each other, considering the size and the limited space available.
