Morning All,
I have a couple of questions on hitting France this year, we are looking between a couple of sites down in the Vendee area, specifically, Village De La Guyonniere or La Yole I have searched and found La Yole mentioned a couple of times but not Village? Any views on sites much appreciated !!
We will be tin tenting and my kids are 7, 4 and 4!!
My other question is the Brittany Ferries friends and family discount, is it worth joining the scheme, probably only one trip per year or being very nice and borrowing someones f and f code ?
Cheers All

On the ferry front I can't help and only been to France twice camping but the site we used was recommended to me from the lads at the D2 Boys Club.
The site was http://www.campingpinparasol.fr/en/
Really nice and will be booking with them again next year, can't afford to go this year but booking for next year for sure. Site was VERY clean, entertainment at night, in the heart of the Vendee and used by lots of Land Rover enthusiasts. During our visit last year my daughter counted 32 Land Rovers over our 3 week stay. Thanks Dale, have heard quite a lot on Pin Parasol, we weren't too sure if it was a bit too big for my three, but will have another look cheers.

Tunnel every time and use tesco vouchers towards it. Also look at la garaingoire in vendee. Amazing camp site and this will be our fifth year Running James favourite hobby is writing in the third person.

Will check that one out, our problem with the tunnel is the timing and traveling as we our West Coast Scotland so we want to cut out the extra miles France side, it is marginally quicker to Portsmouth as well and then overnight into France.

When we were there last Aug there were lots of families with young children, there are some pitches very close to the children's playground to, so if you could get one of them the children could play while you take in the sun with a beer in hand. Dale

JJ We are heading down with our 3 and 8 year old ( or they will be when we get there)
Dale kindly recommended pin parasol and we got in there for 8 nights until 9th August but then they are full.
So we then managed to get space for us and the tin tent at Sequoia park for the rest of August. Sounds like a good site, some have had hassles with mosquitoes but I think I've picked a section where that shouldn't be a problem plus we'll take some deet stuff just in case.
I'd strongly suggest checking out sequoia park, we will break the journey up sleeping 1 night on way south and on way home staying at a municipal site. MY15 DIY Black Pack (Better than factory and half the price!)

Next year we should all arrange a meet up/camping in France, lots of forum users go there every year so we should all arrange a BIG camp/meet up.
We can't do it this year because SHMBO work hours and someone has spent too much on a Discover 3 Dale

Dubbs,
Have got sequioparc on my radar after a previous thread, I think it was the mossie's that put us off a bit which is madness as we put up with the midges where we are, we have 10 days from the 17th July so that will be the next thing checking availability!!
Dale got your PM just about to reply

We did Village De La Guyonniere about 5 years ago - not a bad site, and probably OK with smaller kids, ours were a bit older by then. Its not one I've been in any rush to head back to.
We've done Pin Parasol twice, and its a good site, but I hate the way the put all the brits together, all the dutch together. etc, and its very busy around the pool area. Its not a site for a peaceful hol.

I am planning to go to Village De La Guyonniere, in part on recommendation from people at the Caravan show! There is so much choice in the Vendee, but the Village does look like a nice site. I am just looking at crossing options at the moment, possibly the Calais route.

This place was recommended as a stop en route to Vendee from Calais.
Has a rather nice municipal site apparently, no need to book,
Just drop in on the way. MY15 DIY Black Pack (Better than factory and half the price!)
