| Charging trailer Batteries, is this a solution? |

Good evening all,
I am looking at getting the components together to fit a solar panel to my camping trailer when I get back from work to charge the batteries and am just trying to work out if I need a separate controller or if I can use the Ctek D250s Dual to 'kill two birds with one stone'.
So I have two charging situations/ systems:
1a. When stationary,all set up and unhooked (with mains):
- If there is a mains hook up then all charged nicely through the Ctek 25 already installed (which is working great) 
1b. When stationary, all set up and unhooked (no mains)
- I am going to use a SOLAR panel through a controller.
2. When towing:
- I have a 175amp anderson connector already rigged to the rear of the D3 which is connected to my aux battery under the bonnet and connected to the car alternator etc through the T-max system.
So..... I am looking at using the Ctek D250s Dual DC to DC charger to charge from the car aux DC battery (via the andersons) but also use it as the controller for the Solar panel. Would this be ok?
I have been through the instructions for the Ctek D250s Dual and it has:
- a solar panel + input
- Alternator + input
- Negative
- and then the + Out.
And it automatically selects the stronger input to charge the battery by boosting the input.
So do we think that this will serve the purpose for both 12v to 12v systems???

Should be fine, we have several sites that have a wind turbine charging and also have a solar array connected with its one controller. Dale

My friend has one of these ctek d250s on his Toyota Prado works well for charging the battery. When he connected a solar panel through a charge controller the two devices worked against each other with the end result of no charging. Check the manual but I would suggest connecting the solar panel directly to your ctek without the charge controller. My understanding is the ctek are very smart unit using mppt to get the most out of both the current and voltage coming from your solar panel.

Ye I only plan on using one or the other. And was hoping the Ctek would cope with both and it sounds like it will
