Landrover extended warranty

My 2010MY Is coming up for 5 yrs old in March and I have been quoted £910 for 12 months cover. Is that par for course or are there better deals?

Or should I consider non LR warranty at this age?

Fanks ppl.

Go for the genuine warranty, don't waste your money on third party warrantys, I have nothing but problems trying to get them to authorise warranties, never mind you as the customer trying to get your money back, as you have to pay for the work first 9/10 times !

And if you sell the car on, you can get a partial refund on the LR warranty without any hassle as I discovered last year. Just wrote to them and they sent a cheque for the unused full months minus a small admin fee.

That might be your experience. Mine is totally different. When I had the D3, a number of claims (including a new turbo) were submitted over a two year period. When the LR warranty expired, I used Warranty Direct, and never had a problem with any of the claims! Neither did I have to pay up front. When the LR warranty expired on my D4 last year, I had no hesitation at going with Warranty Direct again. Fortunately I've not had to use their services yet (finger crossed), but based upon my past experience..........

Be aware that Warranty Direct won't cover vehicles that are used off-road.

My D4 is coming to the end of its manufacturer's warranty soon and so I thought I'd get a quote from Warranty Direct. I always check with insurers that I'm covered for off road use so asked WD the question.

I thought they might say "we won't cover anything that breaks because of off road use" but, even after checking with the underwriters, they said "No - we won't cover the vehicle at all if it gets used off road".

Profile says your in Hants, Westover do Warranty at a couple of levels which when I looked at earlier in Year seemed to offer quite good value for a slightly older car.

Just coming out of warranty in Jan decided to go with LR one which was just over 1K, but then it includes breakdown cover including europe so not as expensive as first thought if you have to add breakdown cover on top. From memory Warranty direct did not offer breakdown cover though did not know about no off road use before seeing post here.

I've had the LR extended with LR Assistance since the normal warranty ran out !
I have used it quite a few times including 2 weeks ago when I both front bottom suspension arms and 4 wheel alignment done Very Happy
So that must have been a big chunk of money if I would have had to pay Mr. Green So looking at it that way my £1060 is quite cheap in comparison, especially when I've another 10 months left and you never know what might be next Thumbs Up

Glad I saw this thread - I've just had a quote for LR warranty as the 3 years is nearly up on my D4.

One question, does anyone have any experience of wiggle room on the price quoted? They've just quoted me £1050 for 12 months incl. LRA

You've got a tenner off - normally £1060 including LRA.
There is no wiggle room whatsoever.
But you can pay it up in 10 monthly interest free payments.

How did you get bottom arms changed on LR warranty? I didn't think they covered wear and tear items?
