My 2005 D3 TDV6 Manual.
Well, I finally became a D3 owner. I used to hate the ruddy things as they didn't look right. And then they grew on me. And after having 2 TD5's prior to the D3 I decided it was time to go up to the next Discovery.
I found this one at a dealer. Screen price was £8995, And after a lot of talking and fault finding, negotiated it to £7250.
I am not rich, and this took a lot of juggling finances to pull off. But I got there in the end.
It has done 157000 miles, Full Service History and 2 previous owners. Luckily most of the garages who worked on it I know well and I am already customers of so quite surprised I didn't bump into this car before, or if I did I didn't notice lol.
It has a problem with the gears, and some numpty has wedged the middle row seats head rests in the wrong way. And the right hand side boot gas strut mount seems to be half undone.
But I love driving it and also got a 6 month 4 star warranty with it.

I have already bought Terrafirmer Wind Deflectors for it lol

Looking good. I have a feeling you won't be stopping at wind deflectors and steps.

What's the gear issue? I've got a manual as well and the clutches don't like a lot of abuse. Could it be that what's causing the issues.

I have bought a Haynes Manual too as well as clear door indicators and the nudge bar and a rubber boot liner as I have dogs
2 weeks time the rear windows are being tinted hopefully too.
I need to find a half height dog guard although until the blue Discovery has sold, funds are now running low lol.
Thursday I am getting at least 1 keyfob repaired / replaced by a locksmith in Sevenoaks too.
I also need a towbar attachment.

After talking to a few people and looking online it appears that the circlip on the linkage is broken or damaged causing everything to go out of whack.
The clutch doesn't slip or anything. And apart from the noise it drives fantastically.

Ahhhh the old circlip off and leaving it hard to get reverse old chestnut. Not a bad job to do and if you do a search on here there's a few threads about it. Look in the for sale section and you will find some towbars for sale but take care with the removable ones it seems they came in for service action by LR but they've stopped it at the moment. So we're all in the dark if they're safe to use or not at the mo
