Well we finally arrived, 10 hrs after leaving although 1hr was wasted around J4 of the M5, and I made the Disco Mickey error of listening to the sat Nav But it was a lovely ferry ride
Openeed the door, dog ran in, knocked into a table and the lovely looking lamp that was on the table, suddenly ended up on the florr in several peieces
Anyway, my £18,99 roof bag wroked a treat, and now sat with a glass of Stamps Shiras Cabernet
Bit of exploring tomorrow, but back in time for the Scot v Wal game Iggy/Ieuan

I too was delayed at J4 M5 but for only about 60 seconds while the lights were at red. The advantage of passing the closure at 5:30am. Glad I was early as avoided the chaos/carnage at Banbury on the M40.

Any thoughts on how I could miss this on the way back, as South bound looked awful!
Drivers, driving down the hard shoulder....in the end I lost my cool and blocked it (half in lane 1 and hard shoulder)...the guy in the Silver X5 wasn‘t happy, but I hate those Iggy/Ieuan

Do the big loop. Stay on the M6 (or use M6 toll) to M42, M42 all the way round to the M5. Assuming the closure is still there. They might just want to stuff up the beginning of peeps' half term, not the end.
