Have to admit I've not used the ramps I've got in the locker once!! I do however have a time and a half trying to get the van level with the steadies!!
Is it just "part of the fun" or should I be using the ramps more? Just seems such a faff after spending so long getting the van in to the right position only to then have to sod about still hitched up to get it up on ramps. MY15 DIY Black Pack (Better than factory and half the price!)

The steadies aren't designed to level the caravan Decide where you are pitching and then reverse up the levelling ramps until you are level left to right, then unhitch and wind the jockey wheel until you are level from to back and then wind the steadies down - easy. If you can't reverse a van easily either practice until you can (car parks are a great place) or buy a mover. DS3 TDV6 HSE - Silver with Alpaca (old one) Gone

OH I can get it in to position easily it's just that I find some sites you're at some interesting angles to get it how you want it and to then have to pull it back out again to get the ramps in place is a faff.
Good to know I've been doing it completely wrong for a year though
I just expected the ramps to be used when it was really bad and the steadies for minor adjustments!! MY15 DIY Black Pack (Better than factory and half the price!)

Just seen you have a TA, I use a waffle board with a ramp under it and reverse up that, then use a jack to put the alko locks on DS3 TDV6 HSE - Silver with Alpaca (old one) Gone

Use a jack to put alka locks on? Blimey you're making me sound terrible now!!
I use 2 millenco wheel clamps once parked up.

What do you use to measure your level and where do you put it?
I use an iPhone on the caravan floor using the spirit level in the compass app. MY15 DIY Black Pack (Better than factory and half the price!)

It depends what sort of sites you use. I only use Farm CLs sometimes we get a level field, but not very often but you don't have a small pitch to get on just an are of field, I'm more worried about where the sun will rise and set. Friends who come with us never really level their caravan, but that would do my head in!! DS3 TDV6 HSE - Silver with Alpaca (old one) Gone

Yes, you can't use the steadies to level the van, they're only effectively to prevent tipping.
Ramp on either wheel first for nearside/offside levelling, the jockey wheel for back/front. Once they're done, the steadies can't be used to level. Ramps are a pain to use though and ifbim happy with being on a tilt then won't be bothered.

OH, you CAN.... just you probably shouldn't!! I've been doing it for a year!
Now I know I'll not do it anymore - I have to make sure its level before the missus goes in there with her tester marble.... MY15 DIY Black Pack (Better than factory and half the price!)

Hi,
when we were happy with the level of the van (does the sink and shower drain well?) we fasten one of the small two way levels to the A-frame cover, just get swmbo to shout at me (which she does so well!) when it is level left to right then the jockey wheel for front to back
if positioning on a pitch is needed have a waffle board that has been cut a few times to give option of adding an extra layer each time does not normally take more than one or two goes.
If the big levelling blocks are needed then it must be serious
it's about this time that a remember about the lock that has to go through the wheel and start all over again
