Filbeys LD3 :D

Ok guys i will throw a couple of Pictures up later today, Ive literally just bought a 05 LD3. Green (i think for a good price) we live in Plymouth near Dartmoor where my wife keeps her horse so it should suit us well!

First 2 things id like to address that should be fairly simple are..

1. Key fobs have both worn through. Ive seen replacement aftermarket fobs without the LR badge, can yopu get genuine replacement shells or are the aftermarket ones OK?

2. Floor mats, i need a set of rubber fitted mats to keep the mud down. any recommendations ??

there is a small amount of rust under the passenger window seal but this will be easily addressed.

Many thanks for any help

Filbey

Don't know about key fobs. But I got a good set of second hand mats from the for sale and wanted section on here, they tend to come up fairly frequently

I wouldn't faff around with key fobs. Just get a genuine one from Brad @ Yeovil LR or Dan @ Duckworth. Thumbs Up

Edit: If they still function properly then I'd just leave them alone though. Wink

Many thanks i will look them up. i will keep one as its worn but functions OK. The second has worn right through and so i don't see it lasting in the SW weather!

Floor mats keep popping up in the for sale section,
There are a few topics on the keys, a new one from land rover iirc is expensive.

The rust under the window seal is simple, get a new window trim, and replace the old one, 2 torx screws I think. Makes a big difference.

Again try Brad at Yeovil land rover

I repaired one of my keys with one of these:
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/141520975794?_tr...EBIDX%3AIT

I left the other one alone so at least I had one original key but I'm the only driver of my truck.

Get yourself a set of Genuine rubber mats there are quite a few sets on eBay for sale. They do come up on here for sale from time to time.

OK ill look at the repair Cheers for that, I'm only going to repair the one as one is fine really.

LD3 = Landrover Discovery 3, i thought this would be an acceptable three letter abbreviation ?

hopefully the photo loads up. Also I've grabbed some genuine LR front and rear matts, i just want a boot liner now to keep the horse muck and mud down

LR D3 is abbreviation people use. Lol

I have one of these I'm the boot of my D3 so that the muddy dogs don't ruin the interior of the boot.

And then I have a rubber mat on top of it.

OK well my LR D3 Very Happy has developed a horrendous Handbrake squeal... So its booked in to Roger Young LR in Saltash for a handbrake service, i normally wouldn't use a dealer garage but its being paid for by the garage i bought the car from. (I'm hoping i don't need to replace the actuator)

My genuine flea-bay LR mats turned up and now i can see why people rate genuine! best £60 I've spent so far! nice an thick and the fit is perfect.

Dolpants - my boot liner is not genuine but was described as a high lipped fitted rubber liner so Im hoping it will be a good product. that should be here today or tomorrow, a bit more robust for throwing bails of straw and farm bits in the boot...

My airbag caution light has come on this week... must look into that...

Bought a horse box for the good lady... Wow what a pleasure to tow with the D3.!!

One key is off in the post being repaired... I've replaced the missing tow electric's cover (finishes the rear)

Alan - Seat covers are on my list of things to buy Very Happy ill keep a lookout for a decent set. i had genuine ones in my LR FL1 but they were quite thin.. might look for a good thick set Very Happy

ill try and et some more pictures up.

Hope you haven't let the EPB scream too much. Thumbs Up

The air bag light is likely to be wiring under the seats. Wink

Lost - i had heard the wiring under the seats is a typical Rover problem... is it the plugs themselves i should be checking ?? and is it just the front two ??

It could be either, TBH. The most common issue is a stretched cable (caused when the seat is moved Rolling Eyes ) They may appear to be completely OK too.

http://www.disco3.co.uk/gallery/albums/use...01-025.pdf

Edit: Unlikely to be at the rear seats. Wink
