track rod end dilema help greatly received. (SOLVED!)
This is beginning to grate on me somewhat. Had disco mikey down the other day for some bits and bobs on the car, upon removing the wheel to do what should have been a simple track rod end change, he was confronted with a completely different type from what should have been fitted. There is practically no taper on it at all.
The car had suspension damage in early 2010 and went into a lr approved garage garage for repair. Been up to ecp and poor Steve ad AF has been desperately trying to identify what the hell has been put on. The knuckle is completely different from what should be on it. Really don't want to have to change the whole knuckle.
Photos attached any help would be much appreciated.

Sorted! Many thanks for all your legwork Steve. The sleeve that fits inside the knuckle had become detached along with the track rod end. Friendly local tyre shop gave it a blast with oxy acytelene and much chapping later it released.

I was well and truly baffled. Really thought it was the way the track rod end was supposed to be. It was very well seized on. The wheel knuckle in question was a 2010 manufactured part if anyone experiences the same issue!
