Water in ECU housing?
I have discovered a small pool of water below the ECU in the trough under it. Has anyone else had this problem and should I be worried about it?
I just wonder because my Disco is broken at the moment and wont start (suspected fuel supply problem, investigating).

Not experienced water in the ECU myself, but understand it can be devastating. Water in the tray below yours could be a good indicator as to why the motor won't start i.e. water in ECU. Probably needs taken out and dried.
Try to find how the water got in. This problem has been posted about in the past, but someone will be along to give more advice on later I'm sure.

I know when I went throught his problem, I did find water here and there which shouldnt have been there!!

Isofix car seat, Isofix baby seat base, crushed carpet crisps, sticky leather seats (next to Isofix car seat), upgraded front rubber cup holder things, wired up USB charge and audio for my iphone, side steps, de-tango'd lights, H7 OSRAM Nighbreakers, LED side lights, LED reverse lights, clear repeaters, Narpy Grill... tools I don't know how to use.... yet..

Thanks for that info.
I am in the process of replacing the rear belt which is why I had to remove the battery. When I removed the loom connectors from the ECU as per Disco_Mikey's instructions I didn't notice any corrosion, but I'll check again this weekend.
What I did notice is that the rubber grommet around the part of the loom that descends down through the trough below the ECU (presumably into the glove box fuse box), has come away exposing the individual wires. I hope none have abraded but I expect it will be quite a job to take all this area apart to inspect the loom and try to locate the source of the water.

I think I have discovered the source of the water under the ECU.
Quite a pool in the tray underneath, you can see the screw on the right reflected in the water.
My finger in the water about 10mm deep!
Simply caused by the rubber bonnet seal coming away from the curve allowing water from the windscreen to run down behind fusebox housing.
It looks as though the seal has shrunk over the years causing it to come away. I tried refitting it but it doesn't seem long enough now, so will need to get a replacement.
ECU connectors look clean and corrosion free so water didn't get into ECU fortunately.

Well, I found one on Ebay for 45 quid, so I will try to 'move' mine from the front towards the back if you see what I mean, but may have to bight the bullet and buy a new one if it leaves too big a gap at the front.
