Timed/Remote climate
So I seem to have failed somewhere in my attempt to get timed and remote climate working myself
Have installed the remote receiver unit and antenna in the rear (thanks for supply TLO) and successfully paired the remote (thanks Wiggs). Using my IID tool I have set timed climate to enabled in the CCF and do have the timed climate button now on the screen so that bit seems to have been successful.
Also set the remote FBH setting to 'Radio' in the CCF this was a guess - I think the other options were pager, unspecified and disabled. Have I got that right?
However it doesn't do anything, I can set a time in the screen for it to come on and nothing happens when you get to that time.
Tried using the remote, steady green light goes to flashing green light but still nothing happens - no FBH noises or anything. When I press the off button on the remote it goes red and there is a quick flicker of the instrument cluster in the car which implies some sort of communication is taking place.
Was below 15 deg outside and low fuel light isn't on. IID tool reports voltage of 12.0 with engine off.
FBH definitely works OK (IID tool can initiate the self test routine which I have done and it all fires up OK and runs).
Anyone got any ideas?

I thought there were three settings to change to get the Timed climate working with the IIDTool
"Timed Climate" to "Enabled"
"Fuel Burning Heater" to "Fitted Parking Heat"
"FBH Call Start" to "Fitted Radio"
Obviously this is without the remote.
Maybe drop the Gap boys an email they usually have a quick solution.
If the timed climate doesn't physically come on then it must be a setting or its not meeting one of the requirements (as you said ?voltage a bit low or diff temp)
It is odd.
On another note may need to get the part numbers for the antena and receiver.

Go in the car .. Press the radio on button ( don't put ignition on ) and go to timed climate .
The manual vent / heat buttons should be available .. Try them and let me know ( when its heating the red led should flash on the heater knob )
There is normally 3 settings to change
Last one is .. Additional heater .. FFPHG4 Gone ...but not forgotten

A bit wrong, 9 deg C is the number - I bet you are thinking of the D3.Land Rover - Turning Drivers into Mechanics Since 1948

Wiggs, no not at all. For normal operation the FBH lights at an outside air temp of +9 deg C or below (for the D4).Land Rover - Turning Drivers into Mechanics Since 1948

Below 5 degrees the FBH will start automatically when the engine is running ( as long as there's fuel / no errors / engine temp not above 75degrees etc )
Timed climate will work at below 16 degrees .. Above that temp it ventsG4 Gone ...but not forgotten

Agree with the timed climate bit but every D4 I have seen lights at +9 deg C (ECT less than 75 etc etc).
Think it is in the book.Land Rover - Turning Drivers into Mechanics Since 1948

D4 Workshop Manual:
Quote:
Operation of the FFBH is controlled by a status message from the ATC module to the control module. A similar status message, from the control module to the ATC module, advises the ATC module of the current operating status of the FFBH.
While the engine is running, if the ambient air temperature is less than 9 °C (48 °F) and the engine coolant temperature (ECT) is less than 75 °C (167 °F) the ATC module changes the status message from 'heater off' to 'supplemental heat'. The control module then changes the status message it sends the ATC module to 'supplemental heat' and starts the FFBH. The control module will not start the FFBH, or will discontinue operation, if any of the following occur:
-The control module is in the error lockout mode (see Diagnostics, below).
-A crash message is received from the restraints control module (RCM). For additional information, refer to: Air Bag and Safety Belt Pretensioner Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) (descop 501-20B).
-A low fuel level message is received from the instrument cluster. For additional information, refer to: Information and Message Center (descop 413-08).
-The engine is not running, or stops running for approximately 4 seconds. The time delay is included for stall protection.
If the control module does not start the FFBH, or discontinues operation, the status message to the ATC module remains at, or changes to, 'heater off'. If the ambient air temperature increases to 9 °C (48 °F), or the ECT increases to 75 °C (167 °F), the ATC module cancels supplementary heating, by changing the status message to the control module back to 'heater off'. The control module then cancels FFBH operation and changes the status message to the ATC module to 'heater off'.
The FFBH is controlled at one of two heat output levels, 2.8 kW at part load combustion and 5 kW at full load combustion. The control module transmits the amount of fuel used by the FFBH to the instrument cluster, and the FFBH coolant temperature to the ATC module.
