Hi Robbie, regarding your comment on getting the D4 done at 30k for "severe duty" do you know what constitutes severe duty for a TC/Gearbox? is it motorway, towing or arduous conditions? etc
Dont think I'm severe, mileage wise I'm 99.99% highway journeys I don't do proper off roading but do tow heavy 2 or 3 times a month and drag trailer/boxes across paddocks once or twice a week.MY06 S - Gone but not forgotten

In the north Notts area, not a million miles from Robbie. I'll keep an eye on this thread and see if you're anywhere near me in Feb.There are two rules for success,
1. Never tell everything you know.

It's not defined but things to consider are:
- The D4 is about a 1 tonne heavier than most ZF6 / ZF8 equipped on every single journey
- Towing, carrying heavy loads, extreme hot weather use, challenging off-road use and high-speed cruise control use all take their toll.
- ZF make an incredibly good gearbox and the designers are crying into their beer watching it being punished without appropriate oil changes.
- With regular changes this box can outlive the rest of the vehicle.
Oh and Mike and Geoff offer a great service.

I really believe that with the discovery it's important to do preventative maintenance and use them regularly and changing the gearbox oil is one of the important maintenance items

Daft question
With a car still under warranty does a Megaflush effect it? is it an accepted maintenance procedure by Landrover/ZF? I seem to recall cutting of pipes or something when I had my D3 done it seemed like the car wasn't designed to have it done as routine maintenance. For an earlier 30k flush is a drop the oil and replace it method like the dealers do a option even if it doesn't flush the whole system?
If LR are cool with a Megaflush and I still have this car by the next service ill seriously consider it.MY06 S - Gone but not forgotten

I am keen to sign up for a flush if/when there is a tour.
I'm based in Berks so assume Geoff would be closest?
Also assume car has to be up to temperature, with engine and pump running in order to complete? If so I need to get cracking getting it all back together if the tour is happening in Feb Disco3 project
