Creaking Glove Box.

Seems a bit petty, I know, but has anyone else had or got a creaking glove box. After setting off, after a few miles I get an insesent creak in my left ear. If I reach across and hold the flip down lid on the top, smaller glove box it seems to stop.
Have doused all moving parts in WD40, but it has not stopped it.
Anyone experienced the same, and if so did you manage to fix it?

It's not the infamous aircon flap fart is it?

You do not want to use WD40 get some silicon spray and use that instead.
I had a Merc come in many years ago to the garage I worked at (Audi VW dealership), it had been back to the Merc dealer many times for a squeak from a lower dash trim, Merc could not solve the issue, I gave it a quick spray with silicon and the noise went away never to return, owner later brought a new Audi as a result Thumbs Up

Not the aircon flap fart. Had that in my Disco 3.

Will give silicon spray a try.

Cheers.

I think I'll try that on my creaking/cracking centre console box/armrest. Leaning on it when I climb in probably isn't helping it much though.

Mine gives a creaking noise between the lower glove box and center fascia. Got the LR squeak repair kit, but haven't had the time to apply the various lubricants yet...

Thanks Russell.
Silicon spray seems to have done the trick.

I can completely appreciate this point, my 2013 D4 has just started doing exactly this, along with a bit of a creak from the main dash piece around the heater controls. Drives me mad, bought my wife a New polo a year ago and the dash on that is whisper quiet! May be a silly question but where does one apply the silicon spray?

Thanks.

I had this same issue. The little rubber stops were worn out causing a bigger gap. But instead of replacing them, I just took some sticky foam strip and added it to the glove box side. That helped put resistance back onto it when it was closed.
