cruise control cutting out

whilst travelling along the dirt roads on the weekend, my cruise control would cut out when going over heavy corrugations. it was fine going over regular ones and on the bigger ones felt like the D3 was being retarded slightly prior to cutting out. could the clock springs have something to do with this or something else like the traction control or other.

Not sure if it is the same thing but my cruise cut out once i was airbourne over a hump back bridge, possibly a loss of traction issue Embarassed

IIRC, Cruise cuts out automatically when the ESP kicks-in.

My cruise control will not resume after cancelling on some journeys. The only solution is to stop and restart the engine which is a pain on a long motorway journey.Evil or Very Mad

My local authorised repairer did a search on LR bulletins for the issue today and found none.

I have not had mine cut out offroad, but then the furthest offroad it has been was at Eastnor car park!
Whistle

It is just a niggle now, but if it continues I will book it in to get it fixed - any one else had the no reset issue?

TFC you know about these electrical things - any ideas?

'clock spring' is the usual suspect, though mine was replaced and it still did it. Dealer checked all the appropriate wiring and reapplied some of the software they thought was relevant to fix it in the end

Cruise control will cancel when DSC is active ( I assume that's what JMC meant by ESP Wink ) if there is a problem with activation or deactivation on 05/6 MY's then the 'clock spring' is the usual suspect

I know DSC is called ESP in Ford's though

DSC isn't just 'roll over' protection, so yes, it does work in a straight line - losing traction to the wheels would do it.

No Shocked I meant ESP. I know it also cuts the CC if the DSC comes-in too.

See if it still cuts the CC if you have the DSC off.
It doesn't take much for it to cut in though.

I've had the CC cut-out at 60mph on tarmac...... I was going round a 40mph corner on cruise at the time. Embarassed

DSC light only flashed for a milisecond but I happend to catch it in my view.
