I think its a decent idea (and there is a 25 post/1 month rule),but if there was a dedicated section, might it not lead to people joining just to advertise their car for free ?....remember that anything sold on here is subject to a voluntary donation....
I suppose, from Martins point of view,he could try it for a while, and see how it went "Better to remain silent and be thought a fool, than to speak out and remove all doubt" ?.....what rubbish...

The observations I have is that with the magic of vision you can just look down the list here http://www.disco4.com/forum/for-sale-wanted-vf6.html and see the cars for sale ...in 30 seconds I could see that there are 9 for sale on pages 1 & 2
The other for us mods is that many people don't post in the right sections now let alone with more ..e.g. yesterday alone I moved at least 4 wheel or tyre related threads to the Wheels & Tyres section....and that's just one subject on one day
Anyway I'll add a poll and then if you can get say 100 for then that might have Martins attention 21 year LR veteran > D2 GS 2003 > D3 S 2006 > D3 HSE 2009 > D4 HSE 2013 > D4 HSE 2015 > D5 HSE 2018 > DS HSE R-Dynamic P300e 2021

I like the idea but I think there should be some specific rules for selling vehicles which would negate the need for separate section.
If there was a format rule for the thread title that had to to include year, model, mileage and price then they would stick out better and you wouldn't have trawl through posts listing "retrofitted with 2014 screenwash" only to find it's £2k more than it should be.
So the thread title could follow the format
55 D3 HSE Auto,125k, £9750IID PRO
MSV Extreme
Nanocom One
As armalites says, any different formatting etc. would make it more worthwhile but even just a separate section would be good. It would help prevent those selling cars from being flooded with other stuff pushing the ads down the page.
If age, model, mileage, price etc could be shown in columns that would be great.
Would it be for any cars or just the D3s? I'd say the latter.
I wouldn't want Martin to have to put too much time into though if he doesn't want to.

To be honest, I'm afraid I don't really think it's necessary, as DG say's it doesn't take long to scan a page to see if there is a car for sale, and the owner can always bump it up the page if necessary.

Just click on "New Posts" at the top of the page and you can quickly scan for vehicles. It updates every now and then so a new Ad will be near the top.

I like the idea but only if it not too much trouble to do it.
Could even save the Mods some time by having a 'price' box to complete, which if not filled in would not allow add to be posted. Easy for me to say all this but then I can only just about work a PC!

A good idea also would be for people to put SOLD on the title if an item has been sold. Mantec sump guard.
Prospeed tree slider/steps.
Flack duel battery system.
18"Compomotive/AT3 tyres
Brembo 4pot front brakes

I take it all of you in favour will help out moving the vehicles for sale across to the new forum when they get posted in the wrong areas?
It's been asked a couple of times (including moving Wanted ads out as well, and non-Disco stuff out) but it does end up being fragmented and more moderator time needed to move ads which are put in the wrong place.
What's probably going to be better, longer term, is a proper ads system rather than another patch/hack on top of the forum to support this.

Why not make something other to differentiate this via the type of the thread and make that searchable with a button?
If you make the type mandatory and then make a button on the top of the page to simply select the proper type.Cheers Patrick from Munich
