Today,I went for a drive...

It's no sports car,I know that, but instead of the dull dual carriageway direct route,I decided to go the long way round
The Sun was out,the roads were dry and it was a chilly 2c...so plenty of cold air for the Intercooler and fresh brakes needing bedded in.
Slipped it into Sports mode, and Command shift ,and just went for a spirited drive on quiet, empty rural back roads....no sports car as I said, but for a big old lump they do fly when you ask them...seamless manual paddle shifts from the 8-speed,both up and down the 'box, and totally predictable roads manners.
Over the last 10 days my car has lugged huge loads, been off-road in the Kielder Forest, transported family and various hangers-on to school and clubs...and still had the power to put a smile on my face..
Is there a more complete all-round car on the planet ?....not in my book
"Better to remain silent and be thought a fool, than to speak out and remove all doubt" ?.....what rubbish...

Never wanted or had schoolboy dreams of any other car when I had the D4.
To me, I was driving my ideal motor.

Couldn't agree more! My D4 Just keeps on making me smile, I am LR to the core, had a Defender and a D1 before but this car is just the greatest all rounder. Had mine for 3 months now, love driving it anywhere - living the dream? Damn right I am!!
